Hootsuite Webinars Reflection



In the process of learning more about social communication and marketing, I watched four Hootsuite webinars. I really enjoyed watching these. The content was presented in an engaging and easy-to-understand way. They also have a Q&A or Fireside section where they answer questions from viewers which is really cool because I found some of the questions I had were the same or very similar to the ones other people asked.
Here are my key takeaways from each.

4 Ways to Enhance Customer Experience with Social Data 
 - Purchasing behavior has been vastly impacted by online/social growth, it's important to analyze how you consumers buying patterns may have changed based on your online/social channels
- The customer journey physical vs. digital - awareness: billboard/tv ad vs. social media ad, search: magazine/catalog vs. online search, acquisition: instore purchase vs. online purchase, feedback: mail-in reviews/ phone reviews vs. online reviews/chatrooms/video reviews
- It's important to understand your social data to know what of your content resonates best with your consumers: are you objectives the same as your consumers, best type of content, best distribution methods
- Impressions should no longer be considered an effective way to measure success

 - Personalization wins for both organic and paid content 
 - Saying good-bye to size fits all content, understand the specifics of each platform and how your consumers use each platform and create your content tailored to that
- Personalization is important because if you are paying attention to your audience, chance are you are also providing valuable and engaging content

- You can incorporate Instagram into your social marketing strategy but if you don't have one incorporate into your overall business strategy
- Engagement is a two-way street when growing your following, make it meaningful!

- Listen/Monitor and Engagement is important in understanding identifying and understanding your target audience.
- A good starting point when looking to extend your brand reach is overhauling your social media strategy to see what pieces you may be missing
- Craft quality content that will encourage your audience engagement with images and videos
- Your content should compliment not overshadow each other
- Boost your top performing content to reach your most engaged consumers
